    輕燒鎂球是選用普通輕燒鎂粉,經混料後壓球而製成。主要用於轉爐煉鋼,濺渣護爐,能提高轉爐爐齡。輕燒鎂球的製備是將80%輕燒鎂粉加入2O%水,放入混碾機進行碾壓、攪拌、混合15~2Omin形成混合料,通過皮帶輸送機送人壓球機製備出產品,然後進行堆放。輕燒鎂球成品經過48h陰幹並形成強度後,以備銷售。
輕燒鎂球用做轉爐濺渣護爐的護渣成分調節劑。因為濺渣護爐要求爐渣要有合適的粘度和耐火度,合理的爐渣成分是實施濺渣護爐的關鍵。一般的爐渣不能直接進行濺護爐,需要加入一定量的氧化鎂球進行調節,同時代替白雲石的使用,減少渣量,提高爐渣中MgO的含量。 
    由於MgO是高熔點礦物,熔點2800℃,爐渣中MgO含量的提高,使爐渣粘度變大,耐火度提高,爐渣更容易與爐襯結合在一起,在爐襯上形成有效的爐渣保護層,從而提高爐襯壽命,降低消耗。

Due to the looseness, light density and low strength of the light-burned magnesium spheres, the spheres are easily broken during loading, unloading, transportation, squeezing and falling. Therefore, when the lightly burned magnesium balls are sent to the steelmaking furnace and have not come into contact with the molten steel, some broken pieces and powder particles are sucked out of the furnace by the strong negative pressure of the exhaust system on the top of the converter, and pass through the The electrostatic precipitator is collected and treated separately as waste, which results in the following 3 results: increasing the degree of damage to the converter lining, increasing the degree of damage to the exhaust system equipment, and increasing the consumption of light-burned magnesium balls per ton of steel.
